Resumo: RESUMO Esse trabalho tem como objetivo, identificar a percepção dos idosos que frequentam o Clube da Terceira Idade de Assis, quanto à sexualidade e às medidas preventivas do HIV/AIDS. Diante de um crescente número de pessoas idosas e suas mudanças comportamentais na vida sexual, torna-se indispensável à participação da Enfermagem em ações capazes de informar e prevenir as doenças sexualmente transmissíveis, em especial o HIV/AIDS, tornando-se de grande importância e realização desta pesquisa. Este estudo buscou identificar e compreender a sexualidade desta população e os motivos que tornam este grupo vulnerável ao HIV/AIDS. Utilizou-se um estudo de abordagem qualitativa, do tipo exploratório e descritivo, a amostra constitui-se de 70 idosos que frequentaram o Clube da Terceira Idade de Assis/SP, no mês de julho/2010. As informações foram obtidas por meio de um formulário, contando 21 questões. Os resultados foram avaliados por intermédio da leitura do material obtido por meio da caracterização dos idosos entrevistados no estudo. Tendo sendo concluído que a maioria dos entrevistados possui certo conhecimento sobre o HIV/AIDS, entretanto a maior parte afirmou não fazer o uso do preservativo e nunca ter realizado o teste HIV/AIDS. PALAVRAS-CHAVE: IDOSO, HIV, PREVENÇÃO ABSTRACT This study aims to identify the perception of the elderly who attend the Club of the Third Age of Assis, regarding sexuality and preventive measures of HIV/AIDS. Faced with a growing number of older people and their behavioral changes in sexual life, it is essential to the participation of nursing actions that inform and prevent sexually transmitted diseases, especially HIV/AIDS, making it of great importance and this research. This study sought to identify and understand the sexuality of this population and the reasons that make this group vulnerable to HIV/AIDS. We used a qualitative study, exploratory and descriptive, the sample consisted of 70 seniors who attended the Club of the Third Age of Assis/SP in the month of July/2010. The information was obtained through a form, counting 21 questions. The results were evaluated by means of reading the material obtained by the characterization of the elderly respondents in the study. Having been found that most respondents have some knowledge about HIV/AIDS, but most said they did not make use of a condom and never having had the HIV/AIDS. KEYWORDS: ELDERLY, HIV, PREVENTION
